Independent research and advisory for defence institutions, high-assurance corporates, and agency-adjacent buyers sourcing technology, electronics, and dual-use categories internationally. No reselling. No hardware sales. Written deliverables only.
What we brief on
Category-level demand and price dynamics, import-volume patterns, buyer-segmentation, and dual-use classification queries. Delivered in 1–2 weeks.
Factory and intermediary shortlists with MOQ and lead-time benchmarks, beneficial-ownership checks, sanctions-screening, site-visit capability across Mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand.
Factory-gate vs. intermediary vs. platform-retail price curves, landed-cost modelling including duty stack, FTA-aware (India–Korea CEPA, ASEAN–India, India–UK pipeline).
Attending and reporting from commercial-electronics events (Canton Fair, HKTDC, Computex) and defence / security events (DefExpo, Aero India, Milipol). Deliverables include booth-level intelligence, emerging product lines, vendor-roadmap reads, and negotiating-position snapshots — calibrated to the buyer's category and timeline.
One-off SCOMET classification reads, BIS / WPC / BEE / LMPC / EPR scoping, India customs-duty stack walkthroughs. We do not file paperwork as a CHA; we flag the issues before a purchase order goes out.
Quarterly retainer for in-house procurement or category teams. Monthly supplier watch on a named roster, regulatory-change briefings synchronised to your category exposure, ad-hoc classification reads inside two working days, and review of live RFQs for compliance posture before they go out.
Source-region coverage
Mainland China · Taiwan · South Korea · Hong Kong · Vietnam · Thailand. Dense supplier ecosystems, mature export logistics, and competitive factory-gate pricing. Our default first-look regions for most consumer-electronics, industrial-IoT, security-hardware, and AI-infrastructure categories.
USA · Germany · Japan · Israel · Turkey · Czechia · UAE. Engaged when the category demands tier-1 provenance, FTA leverage, compliance shield, or defence-adjacent thresholds that exclude the primary regions.
Dual-use discipline
Our engagements are bounded by export-control discipline. We are clear-eyed on the line between civilian commercial-grade goods and SCOMET-controlled or end-use-restricted items. If a category, specification, or buyer profile falls on a specific-licence list, we will say so on the first call — not after a quote is out.
Categories we decline without discussion: items subject to India's SCOMET list, MTCR-controlled technologies, Wassenaar dual-use items without proper end-user certification, encryption hardware restricted under Category 5 Part 2, and anything requiring a defence-specific export authorisation our buyer cannot produce.
Categories we advise on freely: commercial-grade security hardware, consumer and industrial IoT, AI-accelerator GPUs and edge appliances (subject to US Department of Commerce export-control rules; end-use and end-user diligence required), networking and storage infrastructure, test and measurement equipment, and the broader electronics bill-of-materials for these.

Engagement models
The deliverables above can be engaged singly or composed. Most buyers start with one of the four shapes below.
Single-category scan with supplier shortlist and price-benchmark snapshot. Common entry engagement.
Continuous monitoring of a named supplier roster with monthly written briefing. For buyers with an active procurement pipeline.
SCOMET / BIS / export-control classification read on a specific SKU or technology specification, with written opinion.
Ongoing in-house advisory capacity for procurement or category teams. Priced per quarter.
Share the category, intended end-use, and decision timeline. We will come back within one working day with a scoping note and a written-deliverable proposal under NDA.
